Below is the link to my Career Development Timeline that details 3 experiences, and associated resources that will support/ progress the experiences, that will help my career development. These 3 experiences are:
Completing course certificates / IT Certifications
In an activity, students are given access to a spreadsheet that includes a list of Deakin Graduates who are also Deakin Alumni. The spreadsheet also gave the degree they completed, their current job title and employer (as of March 2018); and the industry sector they are in.
Connections.
Using information from the aforementioned spreadsheet, i’ve connected with 4 people from the list. They had completed degrees in:
Bachelor of Computing (Computer Science, Software Development)
Bachelor of IT, Honours (Cloud Computing and Software Development)
Bachelor of IT (I.T Security/ Marketing)
Bachelor of Information Technology (IT Security)
I chose to make these connections because the Bachelor of Computing and Bachelor of IT give me an outlook to the wider IT industry. Whereas the Bachelor of IT and Bachelor of Information Technology were both specialized in security which directly relates to my course.
To reinforce the interest of Security and the IT Industry, i’m following several organisations/companies, all with various focuses within the industry:
IBM
Red Hat
Crowd Strike
National Cyber Security Centre
Microsoft
Akamai Technologies
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
